I killed my husband

Suburbia #8 36″ x 56″ Watercolor & Ink on Paper

“I killed my husband…” That’s what I thought when I stumbled on a group of old photographs at a garage sale. It looked like they were from the 1950-1960’s, and I thought, how odd is it that they all depict women but no men in sight. So, I made up a story… the women got so sick of domestic chores and went nuts and decided to off with their husbands in a true American gothic way! They buried them under cypress trees and went along with their day-to-day housework doing laundry pretending as though nothing happened.  The result of my imagination running a muck became a series of paintings called, “Suburbia”Oh, the bright California Sun…!
